About Us
The Office Ergonomics Research Committee (OERC) is a consortium of companies who work together to advance ergonomic research and to disseminate research findings to people who can use that information in designing and managing work places, systems, processes, and products.
We are seeking member companies to join us. Member companies benefit from access to the latest research, networking and collaboration with leading researchers and practitioners, and the opportunity to guide the direction of future research. Please see the “membership” page for more information.
We are also seeking research proposals and ergonomic researchers to collaborate with. The OERC typically funds 3-5 research projects per year on a variety of topics related to comfort and productivity. Please see the “proposals” page for more information and a list of our current research priorities.
The OERC was formed in 1991 by a group of companies concerned by reports of an increasing number of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among office workers. While that focus remains, the scope of the OERC has grown to include mobile work, productivity, wellness, and other aspects of modern knowledge work.
About Our Members
By design, OERC members represent a diverse group of organizations with a common interest in complex human-machine systems, commonly referred to as office ergonomics. The members combine their knowledge and resources to both encourage and support the study of the many factors involved in this system.
